Een rijwoning bouwen die energiezuinig is in productie en gebruik, met bouwmaterialen die ook nog eens gemakkelijk demonteerbaar en herbruikbaar zijn. Die uitdaging ging de onderzoeksgroep Bouwfysica en Duurzaam bouwen van KU Leuven in Gent het voorbije jaar aan. In enkele weken tijd bouwden ze een rijwoning binnen het project CBCI (Circular Bio-based Construction Industry).

Duurzaam vastgoed, het is een hot topic dat ook de wetgever niet onbewogen laat.
Tijdens deze pitch kijken Kato De Schepper, doctoraatsonderzoekster aan de KU Leuven en Eva Milants, advocate bij Eubelius, met een juridische bril naar circulair bouwen en de vergroening van het Vlaamse vastgoedlandschap.
Product-as-a-service systemen waarbij producenten hun producten als diensten leveren in plaats van de eigendom over te dragen, vinden steeds meer weerklank, ook in de vastgoedsector. Een recent voorbeeld is het leasen van ecologische daken of gevels. Dergelijke systemen roepen echter belangrijke goederenrechtelijke vragen op. Kato De Schepper onderzoekt of het huidige Belgische goederenrecht bestand is tegen een circulaire toekomst.
Begin dit jaar traden de renovatieverplichtingen voor niet-residentiële gebouwen in Vlaanderen in werking en begin volgend jaar zullen ook residentiële gebouwen aan bepaalde verplichtingen worden onderworpen. Eva Milants werpt een blik op het wettelijk kader van deze renovatieverplichtingen en geeft een korte toelichting bij enkele prangende vragen voor de praktijk.
